This letter is in reference to Valega Construction.
Valega Construction has been our contractor of choice since June, 2000. We employed Valega to do major renovations on our first split-level home in Linden, NJ. After that, we had them back to finish the basement and build a deck at that same home. We’ve since moved our family to Scotch Plains and Valega has moved with us! We employed them to finish our ‘man-cave’ basement (complete with full bar, granite countertop and Spanish tiles), our beautiful pool-deck (including a stone waterfall!), and reface the front of our house (including front steps).
Valega Construction is reliable & trustworthy; They do what they promise, communicate well on updates / timelines and respect your home as if it were their own.
We are always most impressed with the level of pride the team at Valega take in their work; They are very creative, have a meticulous attention to detail, and often make suggestions we could have never imagined ourselves. Their suggestions ALWAYS work out beautifully; one perfect example would be their suggestions for the bar in our basement; we would have never thought to use Spanish roof tiles to form a wine rack but I am so glad they suggested it – the number of admiring comments we get from friends and family on our bar is remarkable. The other wonderful example we would note is the wall they built around our pool deck; we needed some sort of retaining wall and they took that to a different level, making it into a focal point of the patio that looks as if it was always meant to be there.
The process of making decisions is a collaborative approach with Valega; the team offers you choices and honest feedback. We very much value the fact that they have an opinion; We often would end a conversation by asking the team: “If it was your home, what would you do? “ They always had an answer and reasons to back that up.
Lastly, I would note that the team at Valega pays special attention to keeping the work area as clean as possible; they are very aware that having work done on your home can be disruptive, but they work hard to make it the least intrusive possible. They vacuum dust in the area daily, put down tarps to protect flooring/ entrance ways from getting overly dirty, and just generally take the extra time to clean up after themselves in an ongoing basis so you’re not left with an overwhelming mess by the end of the project.
We would recommend Valega Construction to anyone looking to have work done on their homes – if you want a team that will treat your home with the same respect, creativity and pride it deserves, they are the only choice!
